Karletta Pergeson of Happily Ever After Parties, LLC

How many kids do you have and what are their ages?

I have a creative 10 year old daughter and a very active 8 year old son.

Where are you originally from and what brought you to Wichita?

I was born and raised in Wichita, moved to Southern California for college and stayed close to 20 years. After having my son, my husband and I decided Wichita was where we wanted to raise our children.

What does your family like to do around Wichita?

My family stays pretty busy between hockey and baseball games for my son but we do enjoy Botanica, Exploration Place, Tanganyika, and the Cosmosphere.

Tell us about your business.

I own Happily Ever After Parties, LLC. We offer professionally trained princesses, superheroes, and mascots for parties and events. For Valentines day, we offered singing telegrams and we will also have the Easter Bunny making door deliveries.

How do you juggle being a business owner and a mom?

I’m fortunate that my daughter loves to help out with the business so she is always my sidekick. I’m also extremely blessed that my husband coaches for both my son’s sports teams.

What is your best mom hack?

Make chores be “fun” so the kids will want to help!

What is the hardest part about being a mom?

I would say juggling the responsibilities of mom and business owner.

What is your least favorite chore?

Laundry!!!

What is your favorite non-mom activity?

I love watching live theatre productions as well as relaxing with a good massage and facial.

What is the best piece of advice another mom gave you?

Give yourself grace. It’s easy for us moms to always show grace to our spouses, kids, families, even strangers in the mall but difficult to realize that we need to give ourselves grace too.

What can local Wichita moms do to help your business during this pandemic season?

It would be amazing to get more party and porch visit bookings. I have a staff that is missing performing for the kids of Wichita. Once we are able to open back up, we are planning lots of events for both our princesses and superheroes. Following us on Facebook would also help get the word out of all our future events.
