I have two kids: Camilla (4) and Caden (2).

Where are you originally from and what brought you to Wichita?

I was born and raised in a very small town in western Nebraska (Hyannis). I had just 9 people in my high school graduating class! I went to college at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and moved to Wichita to work at Koch Industries. I was with Koch for 11 years before starting my business.

What does your family like to do around Wichita?

We love to be outdoors! We go on bike rides, fishing, golfing, swimming, zoos, parks, splash pads, etc. Needless to say we are excited for the weather to warm up!

Tell us about your business.

At Any Lab Test Now we provide direct access lab testing, meaning we provide the doctor’s order so people can walk in and get tested for pretty much anything they’d like! We do general clinical labwork, allergy/food sensitivity, micronutrient testing, hormone/diabetes monitoring, DNA/paternity testing, drugs and alcohol, STD testing, Covid testing, etc and we also sell Vitamin B12 injections for a much needed energy boost! Most of our prices are on our website so there are never any surprise bills and most results come back in 1-3 days. Our services are perfect for those without health insurance or anyone with a high deductible health plan looking for a more convenient and affordable option for lab testing!

How do you juggle being a business owner and a mom?

It can be difficult to maintain balance, but being a business owner has allowed me more flexibility now that we are up and running smoothly. I try to take off at least one afternoon per week to get caught up at home. On that day I catch up on emails after the kids go to bed. Meal planning helps a lot too on the weeks I’m organized!

What is your best mom hack?

Okay to wake clocks. They are a game changer for small kids, I’m telling you. My kids stay in their beds until their “clocks turn green.” It’s amazing, especially on the weekends when we set them 30-60 minutes later. 😊

What is the hardest part about being a mom?

Juggling/balancing everything and being spread too thin. Sometimes it’s difficult to slow down and enjoy daily life when I’m always so busy. I would be bored without all of the craziness though!

What is your least favorite chore?

Laundry – more specifically, folding laundry. I’d be lying if I said there weren’t at least a couple clean loads of laundry sitting in baskets at home right now.

What is your favorite non-mom activity?

Getting my nails done and/or drinking wine with good friends!

What is the best piece of advice another mom gave you?

Make time for date nights and don’t forget to put the right amount of focus on your marriage.

What can local Wichita moms do to help your business during this pandemic season?
